Salmon chaos!

More than 100 Taiwanese people changed their name to “Salmon” in order to take advantage of a sushi restaurant’s promotion. Under the two-day promotion, any customer whose ID card contained “gui yu” – the Chinese characters for salmon – could eat an all-you-can-eat sushi meal along with five friends for free.

But Taiwanese officials were not amused. A Taiwanese official has pleaded with people to stop and said it not only wastes time but causes unnecessary paperwork.

Taiwan allows people to officially change their name up to three times.

  • I don’t want her to think we’re taking advantage of her.
  • He took advantage of the good weather to go for a walk.

  • Promotion
