The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, are usually given every February. However, the Oscars next year will be delayed until April due to the corona virus.
The pandemic has shut down most major cities in the world, and cinemas also closed temporarily. Many movies have postponed their release dates, which could have decreased the number of the films contending for the next Oscar.
Therefore, the Academy announced that the 93rd ceremony for the Oscars will air on the 25th of April, 2021, and the deadline for movies to be submitted was also extended.
