Once upon a time in Phoenicia, (1)situated on the easternshore of the Mediterranean, there was a (2)lovely princess named Europa.
古代地中海東岸有一個叫腓尼基的國家，公主歐羅芭長得非常漂亮。
One day she was playing with her servants at the beach when Zeus, father of gods and men,noticed her from the (3)palace on Mount Olympus.
有一天，她和僕人在海邊玩耍，天神宙斯這時正好從奧林帕斯山頂的宮殿發現到她。
He was attracted to her and fell in love at first sight. Therefore, he turned himself into a (4)bull and appeared in front of her.
宙斯被公主吸引，立即愛上了她，因此，宙斯就變成一頭公牛，在公主面前出現。
It was beautiful with (5)sleek maroon fur and looked (6)domesticated as well as (7)adorable, the princess having a soft spot for it.
這頭公牛非常漂亮，全身是光亮的深紅色毛，看似有人飼養，模樣也很可愛，公主見了非常喜歡。
Not only did she make a ring of flowers and put it around the bull’s neck, but shealso hugged and (8)caressed it.
不但用花編成花環套在公牛脖子上，還擁抱公牛，輕撫牛身。
Then the bull lowered itself, (9)enticing Europa to ride on its back. However, to her(10)utter(11)astonishment, the bull got up and (12)dashed to the sea as soon as the princess was on its back.
後來公牛蹲了下來，誘使公主騎上牛背，公主一騎上去，公牛隨即起身，飛也似地朝大海直奔而去，叫公主大為驚異。
This bull swam as (13)swiftly in the sea as it ran on land. Finally, they came to the Greek island of Crete, where the bull (14)converted into Zeus, who (15)identified himself and (16)confessed his love for her.
公牛在海中游得很快，就像在路上奔馳一樣，最後公牛把公主帶到希臘的克里特島，變回宙斯的模樣，向公主表明身分並且訴衷情。
Later on, the two got married on the island and had three sons. As a result, the unknown continent where they lived(17)derived its name from Europa the princess—Europe.
後來兩人在島上成親，生了三個兒子，因此，他們居住的大陸就因公主的關係得名歐羅芭洲。
As for the bull into which Zeus had (18)transformed himself, it was sent up to the sky as the starsign of Taurus in (19)commemoration of the (20)matrimony between Zeus and Europa.
至於宙斯化身成的公牛就被送到天上去，變成十二星座裡的金牛座，紀念他們這一段姻緣。
