The Indian government banned 59 popular mobile apps, including TikTok and WeChat. These applications, mostly developed by China-based firms, were targeted due to national security and privacy concerns. China declared that it always asks the Chinese companies to abide by both international and local laws and regulations. TikTok also denied sharing users’ data with the Chinese government.
On 15 June, the severe border clash between India and China in a disputed area of Himalayas caused the death of 20 Indian soldiers.
