台灣在三月下旬開始施打AZ疫苗Taiwan starts vaccination campaign with AstraZeneca in late March

Taiwan received the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines – 117,000 doses of the AstraZeneca shot – from South Korea in early March. However, since mid-March, more than ten European countries have temporarily suspended the use of the AZ jab over fears that it might cause blood clots.

To boost public confidence in the vaccine’s safety, Premier Su Tseng-chang got the first shot at National Taiwan University Hospital on March 22 and kicked off the inoculation campaign. Taiwan’s government prioritized frontline health care workers, quarantine centers, and staff at hospitals to be first in line for a vaccination.
