Hua Nan Bank announced its decision to work with Taipei’s Yangming Theater to transform the old building into a complex.The 70-year-old Yangming Theater, located in Taipei’s Shilin District (士林), opened in 1949 and permanently closed in 2019.
By retaining the same name, Yangming Theater plans to pass on domestic cultural heritage. The lender also hopes that the planned mixed-use complex will boost economic growth in the Shilin night market shopping area.The new complex is to comprise ten floors in total, with eight floors above the ground, occupied by retail stores, restaurants, and movie theaters.
Hua Nan will shore up its environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) rating by financing old buildings for urban renewal projects.
