Taiwanese Indigenous singer A-mei will embark on a new world tour next April, starting in Taiwan at Taipei Arena where she has been banned since a controversial concert there in 2015.
This world tour of the 49-year-old singer, often referred to as the “Queen of Mandopop,” will run for 12 nights in Taipei, marking A-mei’s return to the stadium for the first time since 2015, when residents in the neighborhood of the arena complained of noise pollution and panic-inducing vibrations during her last concerts.
As a result, the management of Taipei Arena introduced a regulation, known as the “A-mei Clause,” that imposes a fine of NT$100,000 per song if a concert’s decibel level is too high.
