Honesty is the best policy during the COVID-19 outbreak. A man in New Taipei City who tested positive for COVID-19 will be fined for lying about daughter’s whereabouts. During the investigation, the man refused to provide his contact records and falsely stated that his daughter was abroad.
However, his daughter lives in Kaohsiung and had visited him shortly before he was quarantined.
His behavior created panic in the community. He will be fined NT$300,000 for violating the Communicable Disease Control Act.
