Airport police officer fired for inappropriate comments

Chen, a police officer who had served at the Aviation Police Bureau since 2014, has been dismissed for making online remarks about not working very hard over the years. Chen wrote in the article that he had never issued a ticket or handled a case in all his years at the airport, and thus is leading what he perceived as “the lifestyle of a retiree.”

National Police Agency (NPA) said Chen’s comments are “exaggerated” and “inappropriate,” and his description of his work has tarnished the image of the police. The NPA decided to fire him.Aside from costing him his job, the university also rescinded Chen’s admission to postgraduate school, saying the school has the right to revoke a student’s qualifications if they have been disciplined before enrollment.

Class is dismissed!
