U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Keith Krach arrived in Taipei on September 17, 2020, becoming the second high-ranking U.S. official to visit Taiwan in 2020.
After President Tsai announced the easing of import restrictions on U.S. beef and pork, some expected a bilateral trade agreement would follow. The State Department also announced that the US will launch an annual economic and commercial dialogue with Taiwan, which talks will be led by Keith Krach.
