Wildlife roams the trails undisturbed during the pandemic

COVID-19 has hurt humans and many small businesses in Taiwan, but wild animals have been beneficiaries of it.

Since the Level 3 coronavirus alert was imposed in Taiwan a month ago, the number of visitors to Shei-Pa National Park has dropped dramatically. However, this has given wild animals the opportunity to roam the trails undisturbed.

A YouTube channel has also been set up by the national park headquarters where people can watch videos about the ecology of the national park without disturbing the animals during the pandemic.

New parents are looking forward to a undisturbed eight-hour sleep.

  • beneficiary (n.) 受益人
  • Shei-Pa National Park
  • roam (v.)
  • trail (n.)
