台灣學生上架App”Wahdapp”幫助穆斯林進行集體祈禱Taiwanese student launches app to help Muslims hold congregational prayers

A 21-year-old Taiwanese student, Cheng Ping (鄭平), launched a Muslim prayer app called “Wahdapp” last month. Cheng, who studied at Bilkent University in Turkey beginning 2013, grew up in a Muslim family in Taiwan. He found it challenging to pray five times per day, following the daily practice, without the call to prayers from a mosque in non-Muslim countries.

It took him almost a year to work on developing the app. Cheng said that Wahda is an Arabic word that means unity, oneness, and togetherness.

According to the Islamic Hadith, congregational prayer is much more rewarding than a prayer performed alone.Users of Wahdapp can find and invite their fellow community members to pray together and locate the nearest place of worship.
